Learning Bank 18- Roles and function of an educational media center.

I learned from this lesson that EMC ( Educational Media Center) is a basic requirement for a school to render quality service that can help other schools to fulfill its mission and vision and also to promote the full effective use of educational media. EMC serves a myriad of roles: center of resources; laboratory for learning; agent of teaching; service agency; coordinating agency; recreational reading center and a stepping stone to other resources of the community. I also learned that what are those evaluation question for a functional EMC according to Lucido and Borabo, 1997 and its all about the institutional media services, media and instruction, classrooms facilities, and media program.

I can apply my learning to my chosen field by improving my learning's about technology/instructional media so that if I am in the classroom I will serve as EMC to my students so that i can promote the full effective use of educational media and make their learning more efficient and effective.

Learning Bank 17- Assessment in a Constructivist, Technology-supported learning.

I learned from lesson 17 that the traditional paper-and-pencil test will prove to be inadequate to measure basic skills integrated with higher order thinking skills. And the most appropriate for the Constructivist classroom is the Authentic Assessment because here the students measure their collective abilities, written and oral expression skills, creativity, analytical skills and etc. and another is that the students perform in a real world task because here in this assessment it includes performance assessment- a reliable measure of skills learned and Product assessment- a proof of the acquisition of skills.

I can apply my learning o my chosen field by applying the most appropriate for the Constructivist classroom "The Authentic Assessment" so that I can measure each of my student basic skills integrated with higher-order thinking skills and not the traditional paper-and-pencil test because it is prove to be inadequate measure basic basic skills of the student and also because it cannot evaluate of what authentic assessment do.

Learning Bank 16- Using the project-based learning multimedia as a teaching-learning strategy.

I learned from lesson 16 that in using multimedia learning project as a teaching strategy we should determine our goals and objectives, determining how much time is to be needed and another important thing is to determine the resources. After determining the goals and objectives, time needed and resources available we should plan on how we are going to evaluate student learning. So Simkins, et al (2002) suggest of what we are going to do next: 1. Before the project starts 2. Introducing the project(one-two days) 3. Learning the technology(one-three days) 4. Preliminary research and planning(three days to three weeks, depending on project size) 5. Concept design and story boarding(three-five days) 6. Assessing, testing, and finalizing presentation(one-three weeks) 7. Concluding activities(one-three days).

I can apply my learning to my chosen field by determining the goal and objective, how much time is needed and resources available so that I can use this effectively in the project-based multimedia learning as a teaching strategy and I also apply of what Simkins suggest of how we are going to evaluate student learning and we should do next after determining the goals and objectives, time needed and resources available.

Learning Bank 15- Poject-Based learning and multimedia: What it is?

I learned from lesson 15 that project-based multimedia learning is a kind of teaching method wherein the students "acquire new knowledge and skills in the course of designing, planning, and producing multimedia product" According to Simkins, et al, 2002.Some people/Teachers says that project-based multimedia learning is a powerful motivation. And this has seven key dimensions: Core curriculum, real-world connection, extended time frame, students decision making, collaboration, assessment, and multimedia. I also learned that project-based multimedia learning stregy has a limitation and in multimedia projects students learn by creating themselves.

I can apply my learning to my chosen field by giving project-based multimedia in teaching to let me know of what they learn by showing them of what they learn from me. In that way I will know if that students learn a lot and of course in teaching I will set a limitations in using project-based multimedia learning.

Learning Bank 14- Maximizing the use of the overhead projector and the chalkboard

I learned from lesson 14 that the chalkboard is the one instructional equipment tool that are most available in the classroom than the overhead projector which has become quite popular in schools today. According to James W. Brown (1969) that there are some chalkboard technique and how to use chalkboard effectively such as: sharpen the chalk to get a good line quality, use dots as "aiming points" and so on. Over head projector has a technique how to use it effectively and this overhead projector has a lot advantages according also to Brown (1969) such as projector itself is simple to operate and so on. Overhead projector are other kinds of projector like opaque projector and slide projector.

I can apply my learning's to my chosen field by learning how to use them properly and applying those of how to use chalkboard and overhead projector in teaching to make it effectively.

Learning Bank 13- Teaching with Visual symbols

I learn from lesson 13 that a graph and other visual symbols are very important in teaching because it is more clearly understood by the students than more words and this can be use in different ways depending on our purpose. We can use cartoon/strip drawing in instruction because these serves as visual symbols in teaching and we should better start learning how to draw to more effective the symbolism. The preparation and use of this visual symbols are depends on our creativity.

I can apply my learning's to my chosen field by starting learning how to draw many different form of visual symbols so that I can use this to my  lesson and my students can easily understand.
